Hunter graduated with honors from Mercer University’s College of Liberal Arts in 1987, earning a dual major in economics and history with a minor in business. He went on to earn his Juris Doctorate from Mercer University’s Walter F. George College of Law in 1991. He then became a member of both the Florida Bar and Georgia Bar associations in 1991. He is a Florida native originally from Bradenton Florida.

Hunter began his legal career in Orlando in 1991, and focused his practice on trial work and civil litigation. He has now moved his practice to his own law firm, Hall Keener P.A. where he concentrates his practice on liability defense for various commercial entities, businesses, adjusting companies and insurance companies. He handles general liability, commercial and property matters throughout the State of Florida.

His primary work has been in the representation of insurance defense clients and self-insured corporations. He has conducted 72 circuit civil jury trials, handling almost all from the first chair. In addition to jury trials, he has handled thousands litigated matter as well as non-litigated matters and coverage opinions. Hunter has achieved his Board Certification in Civil Trial Law from the Florida Bar and has maintained this certification for over 15 years.

During his career he has handled a wide variety of general negligence, coverage and property matters. The he has litigated maters including first and third party property and casualty litigation. He has dealt extensively with insurance coverage litigation and construction defect litigation. He also has extensive experience in handling personal injury cases related to construction defects, commercial retail premises liability, premises security, and wrongful arrest litigation.

His practice has expanded to include hospitality law including all aspects of liability defense for hotels, resorts, apartments and rental organizations.  He has extensive experience defending manufactured home developments and recreational vehicle parks.  He has also defended restaurants and other food service organizations dealing with food borne illnesses, premises liability matters and alcohol related liability.  Also, related to the hospitality industry he has extensive experience assisting in the risk management and defense of legionella matters for commercial businesses.

More recently he has undertaken a program with insurance clients to assist in the evaluation and handling of high value time limit demands.  His involvement combines review of the claims to assess for exposure based on his extensive trial experience and negotiating the ultimate resolution.   The result is protection of the company’s interests and ultimately protection of the insured.

In addition to trying cases in numerous counties across the state, he is admitted to practice law in all three Federal District courts in the state of Florida.
